The festival of Dussehra was celebrated with great fervour at St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 89, bringing alive the timeless message of righteousness and truth. The day commenced with a special assembly that beautifully wove together dance, skit, and soulful bhajans, depicting the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and the eternal triumph of virtue over vice.

Students enthralled the audience with their spirited performances; through graceful dance sequences, thought-provoking enactments, and melodious devotional renditions, they conveyed the essence of courage, devotion, and moral strength. The vibrant presentation not only celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage but also inspired young Xavierians to uphold values of integrity, kindness, and truth in their own lives.

The celebration concluded on a resonant note, reminding all that the flame of goodness, once lit, has the power to dispel even the darkest shadows.

At St. Xavier’s, we believe in nurturing every child’s potential by providing them with opportunities that spark confidence, creativity, and expression. The Class Presentations of Grade IV on the theme Progressing India: From Tradition to Transformation were a true reflection of this vision.

Parents had the joy of watching their bright and talented children light up the stage with a spectacular medley of music, dance, and theatre; an all-in-one showcase that vividly portrayed India’s journey from tradition to transformation. From soulful performances steeped in heritage to vibrant portrayals of modern progress, the young learners displayed not only their artistic brilliance but also their thoughtful reflections on India’s remarkable evolution. The event stood as a shining example of how learning extends beyond classrooms, giving students the confidence to voice their ideas and perspectives with pride. The audience was left inspired, applauding the creativity, teamwork, and passion of our young performers.

Indeed, the Grade IV Class Presentations were more than a showcase; they were a celebration of India’s spirit and the boundless dreams of our learners.

The students had a truly enriching and memorable experience with our native Japanese mentor, Ms. Suzuki.

The day began with an engaging Japanese quiz, testing their knowledge of body parts, cultural traditions and the geography of Japan. This was followed by a fun-filled session of the traditional game Fukuwarai, sparking laughter and joyful moments throughout the group.

Ms. Suzuki also introduced students to the benefits of Japan Foundation membership, highlighting how it can support their continued journey in language learning and cultural appreciation.

To make the visit even more special, each student received a thoughtful set of giveaways, including a Hiragana & Katakana notebook, a folder and a bookmark.

The day concluded with a peaceful exploration of the Japan Foundation Library, where students immersed themselves in manga, anime and authentic Japanese literature—deepening their connection to the language and culture.
