POCSO Awareness Workshop – Empowering Our Students with Knowledge & Safety
We are pleased to share that an insightful POCSO Awareness Session was conducted on 21st November 2025 by our School Counsellor for students of Grades IX and XI.
The workshop aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of personal safety, recognizing safe and unsafe situations and the legal protections under the POCSO Act, 2012.
Through a sensitively curated video and interactive discussions, students learned to distinguish safe vs. unsafe touch, practice digital responsibility, identify signs of abuse and understand their rights and reporting mechanisms. Key features of the POCSO Act—child-friendly procedures, types of offences and safeguards—were explained in an age-appropriate and engaging manner.
Students were also guided on how to seek support through trusted adults, the School Counsellor, the Child Protection Committee and Child Helpline (1098). An interactive quiz further enhanced participation and understanding.
In his closing remarks, our Academic Head, emphasized the importance of respecting boundaries and creating a safe, supportive school environment.
The workshop was informative, empowering and impactful, reinforcing our commitment to student safety and well-being.
