Day 4 unfolded as an incredible blend of technology, learning and culture for our young Xavierians!

The morning began with an exciting visit to Russian Technopark, where students delved into the fascinating world of robotics, STEAM and chemistry. Engaging workshops and hands-on experiments offered them a first-hand experience of the cutting-edge advancements shaping the future. The joy of discovery was complemented by thoughtful souvenirs presented by PTY NPGA, making the visit even more memorable.

The day then took a wholesome turn as students visited a Russian farm, discovering how dairy products are produced and preserved with utmost care. They interacted with local cattle and witnessed the journey of milk from farm to table — a refreshing insight into sustainable living.

The sweetest part of the day? Receiving fresh bottles of milk as tokens of purity and warmth from their gracious hosts!

The day unfolded beautifully as students enjoyed quality time with their host families, strolling through serene parks draped in hues of crimson, amber, and gold. Some explored historic churches, captivated by their breathtaking architecture and timeless grace.

An exciting metro adventure led them to a scenic cable car ride over the Moscow River, offering panoramic views of the city bathed in autumn splendor. The laughter continued through friendly bowling matches and the calming experience of a salt cave retreat.

As twilight embraced the city, the evening came alive with a theatre performance, a perfect finale to a day brimming with culture, joy, and togetherness.

Our young Xavierians continued their Russian adventure with a captivating journey through Moscow’s most iconic landmarks! From the grandeur of Red Square to the majestic Kremlin, students were awestruck by the centuries of history and architecture embodied in St. Basil’s Cathedral, State Kremlin Palace and the Spasskaya Tower with its melodic chimes.

The experience deepened as they descended into the artistic marvel of Ploshchad Revolyutsii metro station, known for its exquisite bronze sculptures — truly a museum underground!

The day concluded at the fascinating Museum of Cosmonautics, where students stepped into the world of space exploration. From Yuri Gagarin’s capsule to the inspiring stories of the Soviet space program, it was an unforgettable glimpse into humanity’s cosmic journey.

With hearts full of hope and minds open to new horizons, the Indo-Russian Student Exchange Programme officially commenced on Friday, October 3, 2025, as the Xaverians touched down on Russian soil for a transformative week of cultural and academic exchange.

The delegation was received in Moscow with heartfelt warmth and ceremonious grace by the esteemed faculty of Educational Center Number 7. Their journey to Ivaanteevka was crowned by a moving Karavay ceremony — a traditional Russian welcome, rich with symbolism, embodying unity, friendship, and the shared spirit of hospitality between two great nations.

The day unfolded with a joyful luncheon, where bonds were forged over laughter, stories, and the intricate craft of Decoupage, blending creativity with cross-cultural learning.

This was followed by a guided school tour, where the hosts proudly showcased precious collectables from their culture, offering the Xaverians a glimpse into Russia’s rich heritage. A highlight of the tour was a special exhibit featuring the souvenirs gifted by our students during their visit in April 2025 to India, a moving reminder of the enduring bond between both schools.

The celebration reached a crescendo with a spirited cultural performance, vibrant with music, dance, and tradition, after which our students were warmly welcomed by their host families. As the sun set on this remarkable first day, hearts brimmed with anticipation for the unforgettable journey that lies ahead.

At St. Xavier’s High School, we believe that safeguarding children is a shared responsibility that extends beyond academics. To strengthen this commitment, we recently conducted a faculty workshop on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The session, coordinated by Ms. Ambika Kapur, featured distinguished speakers Ms. Richa Bakshi, Ms. Varuna Sharma, and Ms. Palak Kathuria from HAQ NGO, who provided invaluable perspectives on the legal framework, preventive mechanisms and the critical role of educators in ensuring child safety.

Through engaging discussions and practical insights, our faculty gained a clearer understanding of their responsibilities under the Act, reinforcing our collective resolve to create a safe, secure and nurturing environment for every learner.
