To commemorate the birth anniversary of Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, National Sports Day is celebrated across country on August 29. This auspicious day was celebrated at Xavier's with high spirits.
A special assembly was conducted by students of Grade V(E) to spread awareness about the importance of sports and physical activities in our lives.
The assembly commenced with Surya Namaskar. The life achievements of Major Dhyan Chand & inspiration drawn were shared with the gathering. Students showcased the importance of sports through a small Nukkad Natak.
Further, they pledged to bring glory to the nation by participating in various sports. The assembly was concluded with an enthralling dance performance by students.
The event witnessed zealous and active participation by Xaverian’s & delivered inspirational lessons for all to imbibe.
Ms. Sadhana Dubey, Coordinator addressed the students towards the end and concluded the event with a message that “Education without sports activities is incomplete. The holistic development of a student is possible only when he or she is physically fit and emotionally balanced”.
