Students across Grades IV-VI joyfully celebrated the Tanabata Festival, immersing themselves in the rich traditions of Japanese culture. The day began with an engaging storytelling session about the legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi, helping students understand the significance behind the festival.
As part of the celebrations, students took part in a creative craft activity, making beautiful decorations inspired by the Tanabata theme. They also wrote heartfelt wishes in Hiragana on colorful tanzaku (traditional wish strips), which were then displayed in decorative pots across the school corridors, adding a festive charm to the atmosphere.
The highlight of the celebration was a vibrant Japanese dance performance, with students gracefully dressed in traditional yukata. The celebration offered a meaningful and enjoyable way for students to explore and appreciate Japanese culture.
